Diego Jaimes-Niño, M.A., is a coordinator of the Heritage as Placemaking project. He is responsible for the administrative and financial aspects of the project for Heidelberg University and supports HaP’s research team in overseeing scientific and programmatic output.

He is a doctoral candidate at the Heidelberg Center for Transcultural Studies. He holds a Master of Arts in Cultural Heritage Studies from Heidelberg University and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, where he was born and raised.

Diego worked for over 10 years as an architectural designer, with a strong focus in residential architecture. His academic interests are concentrated in the urban built environment, with the Kathmandu Valley as a central region of study, through which he analyzes transcultural questions about heritage, belonging and homemaking in contemporary cities.
